the appointment of Gunnar B.J.
Andersson, M.D., Ph.D. as the NAI
Medical Certification Director
for our impairment rating skills
exams.
Dr. Andersson has been at
the forefront of spine surgery
research and education for more
than 30 years. He is the author
and co-author of more than 200
academic papers and over 150 books
and book chapters mostly related
to back pain and back injuries. Dr.
Andersson was the Senior Medical
Editor of Fifth Edition of
the Guides
to the Evaluation of Permanent
Impairment.
Dr. Andersson
is a member of numerous organizations
and societies dealing with
the research and care of back
patients. He
is Professor and Chairman, Department
of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush-Presbyterian-St.
Luke’s Medical Center. Dr.
Andersson is board certified
in Orthopedic Surgery.
